Louisiana police officer fatally shot during call to home

A police officer in Shreveport, Louisiana was shot and killed late Wednesday while responding to an emergency call at a home, the constable and local media reported.
Shreveport officers, assisted by state police, were using drones and helicopters to search for the shooter, who fled the scene after opening fire on the officer, the Shreveport Times reported.
Shreveport police could not immediately be reached for comment. The constable's office of Caddo Parish, whose seat is in Shreveport, a city of about 200,000 people, said on Facebook that the officer "lost his life serving our city."
